Letter from the President of Circle-Wise

Hello!

I’m writing to you today to share some exciting news, and some equally exciting plans for the future.

As Blue Spiral transitions into a new mission, we have taken on a new name, too. We are now Circle-Wise, and we are moving into a more collaborative, paradigm-shifting way of working. The name Circle-Wise reflects both the wisdom of collective action and the power of circling up to tackle our most pressing challenges. It signals a new chapter—one where we step fully into our commitment to co-orchestration, ethical leadership, and deep transformation. It is both an expansion and a homecoming, a continuation of the work we have always done, but with even greater clarity and purpose. This transition is not just a name change—it reflects the natural growth of our mission. Circle-Wise embodies our unwavering commitment to transformational change in child welfare and beyond. This evolution allows us to fully embrace a broader, more integrated approach—one that strengthens ethical practice, centers co-creation, and fosters systemic transformation.

I have been thinking a lot about what is needed—so much is uncertain, and the work ahead feels immense. How do we discern what is ours to do? And once we see it clearly, do we have the courage to answer the call?

Child welfare is at a crossroads. Historically, in moments of instability, child welfare contracts became more restrictive, reactive, and compliance-driven. In our current political environment, the risk is regression to outdated, punitive approaches that police families and exhaust social workers. If we do not intentionally  invest in collaborative, future-facing solutions, we will see progress unravel and revert to structures that harm families and create burnout for those working in the system..

Given this reality, a new way forward has never been more urgent.  When we shift how we engage with challenges, we create spaces where real transformation happens. With a mindful and collaborative approach, an emergency becomes an emerging opportunity.

What will stay the same about how we show up?

  • Our deep commitment to the relationships we’ve built and the values we uphold

  • The core services we provide—training, coaching, consultation, and strategic advising

  • Our focus on helping individuals and organizations navigate complexity with clarity, integrity, and purpose.

  • A steadfast belief that meaningful change happens when we create the conditions where ethical, values-driven work not only survives but thrives.

What is new and exciting (for all of us)?

  • A more expansive vision, integrating awareness-based strategies into systemic transformation

  • A stronger emphasis on equipping organizations and leaders with the necessary environments, facilitation, and skills to navigate a shifting system while preserving and fostering ethical practice

  • A name and framework that better reflects what we do best—co-orchestration, co-creation, and deep transformation

What’s next?

If we’ve collaborated before, know that our transition to Circle-Wise does not disrupt our commitments–it strengthens them. If we haven’t connected in a while, I would love to hear from you.

We know that many of you are navigating incredibly difficult circumstances—balancing ethical responsibilities with the constraints of policies that do not always align with best practices. Circle-Wise is here to help you identify and implement the keys for momentum. From this place of centered and mindful co-orchestration, we will build the spaces where ethical, child-centered decision-making is supported and sustained.

As we move into this new chapter, we are making some changes to the website, streamlining it and adding some new content. For now, I invite you to reach out to me directly so that we can start a transformation conversation.

Looking forward to connecting,
